Blog #3

I never even realized that the media uses so much editing in their work. I dont think this should even be legal without the consent of the model because that could make them very uncomfortable with themselves and make there self esteem go down a lot even though there making them look better and more attractive. 250 billion dollars a year are spent on ads and most of the ads are using a women as there main promoter. I think the media uses women becuase it will attract men and also women because the women will want to look like the women on the ad in most cases.

  1. I'm not sure the self-esteem of the model has the greatest impact here. The people who see these models in ads as models for their own appearance have a nearly impossible task ahead of them.

  2. Do you think that the self-esteem of the model is the only self-esteem that will be going down? And do you think that the media could sell things in a different way, maybe not using the "sex sells" idea?
